Kidd to Oversee Transportation as well as Capital Projects

Sherman ISD will combine oversight of transportation and capital projects into one position, with Director of Capital Projects Brannon Kidd taking on the additional responsibilities of overseeing the Transportation Department.

Kidd has had his commercial driver’s license for more than 20 years and has driven school buses for five different districts, including SISD, while serving in various roles in school administration.

Kidd came to SISD in 2023 to oversee capital projects, including the design and schedule of construction projects to ensure quality assurance and cost control. He is a former school superintendent, athletic director, middle school principal and high school principal in school districts in Texas and Kansas.

As transportation director, he will oversee a team of approximately 60 bus drivers, aides and support staff who transport approximately 1,700 bus riders on 34 routes. That amounts to about 2,700 miles driven each school day!

Kidd earned his bachelor’s degree in social studies from Southern Methodist University and his master’s degree in educational leadership from Lamar University. He holds his superintendent certification from The University of Texas at Tyler.
