SISD to Host Health Fair on July 20

Sherman ISD is offering a health fair to families on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Sherman High School cafeteria. Sherman ISD is hosting a Health Fair on July 20.

State law requires children to be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable diseases or have a valid exemption to attend school in Texas. At this event, students can get vaccinated by Passport Health with the immunizations they need. Depending on your child’s grade level, updated immunization records may be necessary for your child to start the 2024-25 school year. This is most likely to impact your child if they are entering kindergarten or seventh grade.

Parents must be present and provide a printed copy of the student’s immunization record. Select insurance, cash (no bills over $20) or Zelle are acceptable forms of payment. Vaccines are $10 each with a $40 maximum per child for those uninsured.

The following immunizations will be available at the health fair:

  • Chicken Pox
  • DtaP
  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • HIB
  • Meningococcal
  • MMR
  • Polio
  • Pneumonia
  • TDaP

Immunizations are also available through your health provider or clinic, and the Grayson County Health Department is offering low-cost immunizations throughout the summer. Read more about immunization requirements here.

Students may also receive vision and hearing screenings at this event. Grayson County Noon Lions Club and the Grayson County Evening Lions Club will help provide vision screenings and resources if follow up care is needed.
