Washington Elementary has been recognized by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) as a 2019 - 2020 Honor Roll campus. After an extensive analysis of student data of every public school in the state, Washington Elementary is a leader in getting students to achieve academic success in their grade-level and beyond.
“At Washington, the campus tradition has been to work collaboratively towards our collective goal of growth for all students,” Washington Principal Heather Woods expressed. “We have maintained a campus-wide instructional focus on building students' language acquisition skills through intentional planning and lesson delivery. Over the years, the teachers in the campus have given so much to ensure student success and it is paying off.”
The 2019 - 2020 ERP Honor Roll recognizes public schools that demonstrate high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and reduction in achievement gaps. This year, the Texas Honor Roll recognized over 900 higher-performing schools in the state.
“We’re excited that our students’ achievement is being recognized,” said Wood. “We plan authentic opportunities for students to read, write, and communicate using academic vocabulary. In addition, we use the evidence of student learning to inform and improve our professional practices and respond to individual students who need intervention and enrichment.”
