Sherman ISD Offering Free Meals to All Students

Sherman ISD will provide free meals to all students from now through December 17, 2020. These meals will be available for students attending in-person classes as well as students in the SISD Distance Learning Program.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released nine nationwide waivers extending flexibilities for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO). These waivers will allow Sherman ISD to provide free meals to all students, regardless of grade level or meal status.

The district will temporarily serve meals free of charge to all students starting Monday, September 14. Please note that this program is temporary so families that have not reapplied for free and reduced lunch will still need to submit a free and reduced meal application. Families are responsible for any breakfast/lunch debt accumulated through Friday, September 11. Students will also need money in their account to purchase a la carte food items.

The Sherman ISD Food Service Department is asking ALL parents, regardless of meal status, to submit their Free and Reduced Meal Application online by October 1, 2020. To submit the application, please visit the following link at Sherman ISD Online Free and Reduced Application

Parents who may have additional questions, please call the Food Service department at 903-891-6426.
