Piner Middle School eighth-grader Shomoy Kamal and Dillingham Intermediate sixth-grader Austin Audas both advanced to the county spelling bee and represented Sherman ISD in the academic tournament. Austin placed seventh overall in the competition, and Shamoy placed first, making him the Grayson County Spelling Bee champion. Shomoy's winning word was 'Officiant' and he will now advance to the regional competition in Dallas on March 7, 2020.
