As students continue to learn industry skills and build relationships with future employers in the Texoma area, Sherman ISD is proud to honor businesses and Career and Technical Education professionals that give back to students to encourage future workforce growth.
Sherman ISD Board of Trustees publicly thanked members of the Texoma Middle Skills Regional Partnership and presented them with a token of appreciation for their efforts in helping to make the Advanced Manufacturing Program a success.
The program gained national attention after being featured in District Administration Magazine in July of 2018. The article highlighted Sherman ISD’s Advanced Manufacturing Program, the importance of community partnerships and the positive impact they have on Sherman ISD’s CTE program. The article also mentions the importance of career readiness and forging alliances with community stakeholders that can provide career opportunities for students. It specifically details how Sherman ISD’s CTE program’s partnership with the Texoma Middle Skills & Regional Consortium is helping prepare students to receive industry certifications, increase internship offerings and secure post-graduation employment from local businesses.
During the meeting, each member of the Texoma Middle Skills and Regional Partnership was presented with a framed DA Magazine article and recognized for their efforts in helping to make the A.M.P a success for Sherman ISD students.
