Work Begins at Crutchfield and Fairview Elementary Schools

Green Fencing Goes Up at FairviewConstruction fencing is up at Crutchfield and Fairview elementary schools as crews prepare the land adjacent to the existing schools for construction.

It’s the first signs of progress on the new and improved campuses, which are scheduled to open for the 2025-26 school year.

The current schools will remain open during construction, with some adjustments needed to normal routines.

Designs and site plans for the new campuses were reviewed by the Sherman ISD Board of Trustees and approved by the City of Sherman earlier this year. They were heavily inspired by input from staff, parents and students who met in summer 2023 to help envision the future schools. Then the whole community had the opportunity to provide comments on the plans through a feedback form.

General contractor CORE Construction is currently mobilizing at both schools to begin work.

Area residents with questions or concerns regarding the construction sites should contact CORE Construction Superintendent Danny Leath at 903-718-0678.

Construction of the new campuses is being funded under the district’s 2023 bond program, approved by voters in May 2023.

Additional Projects

In addition to replacement campuses at Crutchfield Elementary and Fairview Elementary, work will begin later this spring and summer on a new elementary school in northwest Sherman and stadium and additions at Sherman High School. Also funded under the 2023 bond program are a new early childhood center and another brand-new elementary, planned to open in 2026.
