Five student-athletes inked agreements to play at the next level on Tuesday, May 17, including two Bearcat baseball players. (See more photos here.)

Ally Baker will head to Champion Christian College in Arkansas to play basketball. She is a three-year letterman and three-year starter on the Ladycat Basketball team. She made the All-District and Academic All-District all three years, and she was named to the Academic All-State list one year.

“It feels great, and it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time,” Baker said. “I went to one of their showcases, and I was surrounded by competitive energy and kids who wanted to be better.”

Madalyn Hall signed with Henderson State University to continue her swimming career. In her four years as a letterman swimmer, she was named the All-Texomaland Swimmer of the Year, the Sherman High School MVP and the Most Improved Swimmer.

“I’m excited to move into the next chapter of my life,” Hall said. “I liked the campus, and everyone on the swim team was really nice.”

Zacorian Harris will continue his football career at East Central University. He lettered in football for one year as well as started for one year, and he has also been named to the First-Team All-District team once. Staying close to home was important to Harris.

“I liked the coaching staff and how hard they wanted to push me,” Harris said. “I also want to prove to myself that I can play at the next level.”

Trevor VanSant will be staying in Sherman to play for the Austin College baseball team. He was a starter for three years on the varsity Bearcat Baseball team, and he made the All-District list for one year.

“I’ve always wanted to play college baseball. It’s like a dream come true,” VanSant said. “And it’s close to home, and I know some guys who are playing there.”

Fellow Bearcat Baseball teammate Logan Williams will head to McClennan Community College to join their powerhouse baseball program. Williams started for the varsity team all four years, and he made the All-District list all four years as well. In that time, he made the All-Texomaland list for two years.

“I’ve been working my whole life to finally make it,” Williams said. “The location was nice since it’s close to home.”
