More than 200 students from across the district’s seven elementary campuses dressed up as their favorite Greek mythology character to participate in the Challenge Greek Living Museum.
The district’s gifted and talented program Challenge, in partnership with the gifted and talented parent group, Parents Advocating a Challenge Education in Sherman (PACES), hosted the event. The Challenge students are studying Greek mythology this semester and were able to bring their lesson to life with the living museum.
Students researched their favorite Greek mythology character, dressed the part, and stood like statues during the living museum. Once museum visitors stood in front of the statues, students came to life to share their knowledge and research about the characters they chose to represent. Students in grades first through fourth participated in the event and will end their Greek mythology lesson at the end of February.
