Work Underway at Crutchfield and Fairview Elementary Schools
Construction is underway on new and improved campuses for Crutchfield and Fairview elementary schools.
District leaders joined staff and students in spring 2024 to celebrate the start of construction on their replacement campuses, which are scheduled to open for the 2025-26 school year.
The current schools will remain open during construction, with some adjustments needed to normal routines.
Designs and site plans for the new campuses were reviewed by the Sherman ISD Board of Trustees and approved by the City of Sherman. They were heavily inspired by input from staff, parents and students who met in summer 2023 to help envision the future schools. Then the whole community had the opportunity to provide comments on the plans through a feedback form.
The new schools were designed by VLK Architects and are being built by general contractor CORE Construction.
Area residents with questions or concerns regarding the construction sites should contact CORE Construction Superintendent Danny Leath at 903-718-0678.
Construction of the new campuses is being funded under the district’s 2023 bond program, approved by voters in May 2023.
Additional Projects
In addition to replacement campuses at Crutchfield Elementary and Fairview Elementary, work will begin in spring/summer 2024 on a new elementary school in northwest Sherman, as well as additions to Sherman High School. Also funded under the 2023 bond program are a new early childhood center and another brand-new elementary, planned to open in 2026.
