Sherman ISD Recognizes Staff Members of the Month
Elementary Teacher of the Month
Beverly Warren is the fourth-grade team lead at Wakefield Elementary and is known for motivating her students and team members. When you walk inside her classroom, students are engaged in either whole group or small group instruction and her classroom management is evident through smooth transitions and student-led activities. She is involved in the after-school Adventures Program and works most evenings tutoring, supervising, and building relationships with students.
Secondary Teacher of the Month
Courtnee Kendrick is new to Dillingham Intermediate this year and fits right in with her Dillingham family. She teaches fifth-grade English Language Arts and has become an important part of the school’s reading department. Ms. Kendrick has worked hard throughout the year to plan engaging lessons for her students and is excited to return to the campus next year as a fifth-grade reading and social studies teacher.
Team of the Month
When anyone drives by one of our schools, their first impression is based on how the grounds of the school look. The community looks to our grounds crew as we do to make sure that everyone knows we care for our children and our teachers and they never disappoint. In cold or hot weather, this crew maintains all of our spaces and does it with care. It is because of this team that our outdoor areas are always well kept and we are proud that they are part of the Sherman ISD family.

Employee of the month
Josefina Diaz currently serves as the Sherman High School custodian lead. She always has a smile on her face and is meticulous in performing all kinds of cleaning and maintenance tasks at SHS to ensure our students and staff have a clean learning environment. Ms. Diaz is a daily example for the rest of her team of a loyal and dependable employee. She is always the first to answer when called and works incredibly hard every day keeping the building clean. Her hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and several people that she encounters commends her strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Substitute of the Semester
Dianna Gibson is a substitute teacher at Sherman High School. She always does a great job, and during her free time, she is more than happy to assist on the campus in any way possible. The SHS administration team realizes that substitute teachers like Ms. Gibson create a successful learning environment in the classroom which helps with student achievement every day and they are proud to have her on their team.
