SISD Holiday Card Contest Winners Recognized
In an effort to showcase our students' talents, Sherman ISD asked students from Sherman Middle School, Piner Middle School and Sherman High School to submit holiday-themed artwork in the district's first-ever holiday card contest.
Dozens of entries were submitted and judged, and the the top 5 winners were recognized at the Board of Trustees meeting on Dec. 13, 2021.
Their artwork was showcased on printed holiday cards mailed to neighboring school districts, community members and local partners.
Yu Xuan Ye, a senior at SHS, won first place, and her art was displayed on the cover of the card. Her art teacher is Ms. Sherry Young.
Placing second was Daniela Galaviz, a junior who attended SHS at the time of the contest but has since transferred to Jefferson Learning Center, and her art is displayed on the inside of the card. Her art teacher is Ms. Jessica Meek.
SHS sophomore Alyssa Graham won third place, and her art was displayed on the back of the card. Her art teacher is Ms. Sherry Young.
Destiny Ramirez, a SHS senior, placed fourth, and her art is on the back of the card. Her art teacher is Ms. Sherry Young.
Piner MS student Avery Boothe won fifth place, and her art is displayed on the back of the card. Her art teacher is Ms. Katelyn Fowler.
