Sherman ISD has selected Adam Patterson as their director of technology services, moving a longtime member of the department into the leadership role.
Patterson has served Sherman ISD since 2008, first as a help desk technician, then as a systems analyst before becoming the technology services coordinator. He replaces Jon Hill, who transitioned to another position at Region 10 earlier this year.
Patterson recognized his passion for technology as a graduate of the computer maintenance program at Sherman High School. He continued his dedication to SISD, spending summers working with the district’s IT department while pursuing his college degree.
A certified education technology leader, Patterson said he values strong work ethic and is looking forward to helping the technology team set new goals and provide even greater support to Sherman ISD students and staff.
“This school year is off to a great start, but there is still a lot of work ahead for my team,” he said. “We must ensure equitable access to devices and Internet connectivity for all students and staff, maintain dependable access to digital learning content, and instill confidence in students and staff to use technology to enhance the learning experience.”
Dr. David Hicks, superintendent, said that Patterson is a skilled technician and leader who will continue to grow and improve technology services in Sherman ISD.
“Adam knows our systems better than anyone, he is knowledgeable and highly skilled. His willingness to help and his positivity are second to none. I am confident that he will be a great leader for our team as we continue to make technology integration, access and security a priority,” he said. “As we bring more innovative systems online, I know we are in great hands with Adam at the helm.”
