Sherman ISD Communications Department Wins National Awards
Sherman ISD's Communications Department received seven awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for their work during the 2021-2022 school year.
Todd Kleiboer, communications specialist, won an Award of Excellence for his feature story "Singing What's Left Unsung: Post-Ajudication Students Place in National Songwriting Contest." The award is the highest given by NSPRA and recognizes outstanding educational publications and material.
Arena Blake, Chief Communications Officer, and Kleiboer received an Award of Merit for the Bearcat Connect community newsletter, delivered weekly during the school year. Kleiboer also won an Award of Merit for his feature story, "Bearcat Builders: Students Construct Their Own Futures."
Ahmad Alzubi, multimedia specialist, received two Honorable Mentions for his videos "Battle of the Ax Hype Video" and "Team of the Month: Warehouse and Print Shop." Alzubi produced 47 videos over the course of the school year, including the "Shattered Dreams" video shown this year.
Blake won two Honorable Mentions for "SISD Takes Part in College and Career Week" and the "Early Childhood Enrollment Flyer."
