Sherman ISD Will Serve Free Meals During School Closure
All Sherman ISD schools and district offices will remain closed March 16-20. Due to the closure, on Wednesday, March 18, Sherman ISD will begin providing free curbside meals to all students until the end of the week.
The district will offer a Grab and Go style breakfast and lunch via curbside service at Piner Middle School and Neblett Elementary. Breakfast will be served on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 am-10 am and lunch from 12 pm to 2 pm at the campuses mentioned above. Parents will be able to drive through the student drop off area at either school to pick up a sacked meal. All meals will be handed to individuals in their vehicles from a Sherman ISD Food Service employee.
“Our food service staff is preparing to make this as convenient as possible for our families while maintaining the highest level of sanitation standards,” Sherman ISD Food Service Direct Mandy Stephens explained. “Our goal is to ensure our students are taken care of, and that includes during times of unscheduled school closures. Our job during this evolving situation is to make every effort to provide our students with nutritional meals.”
All students, 18 or under, are eligible for a free meal. Students must be present to receive a meal, and meals are not available for adults. For additional updates on our food service schedule during district closure, please visit our website at www.ShermanISD.net/COVID19
