Sherman ISD Partners with Community for Back to School Bash
Sherman ISD is excited to partner with several community organizations, including Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas, to host a Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 12. Join us at Sherman High School* from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for food, freebies, and lots of fun to kick off the school year.
*Please note this event has been moved mostly indoors. Families should enter the student/CTE entrance at the rear of the SHS campus.

“Goodwill is excited to partner with Sherman ISD in what we feel is our biggest Back to School Bash ever,” said Sarah Pierce, Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas VP of Community Engagement. “Our partnership with Sherman ISD has enhanced our visibility in the community, and provides us the opportunity to serve more families at our event.”
Goodwill is giving away free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last. There will be free haircuts for boys and fingernail painting to make sure students start the year off in style.
Representatives from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department and Sherman ISD Police will share safety tips, and several health organizations like ER of Texas, United Healthcare Dental, and more will have important health information available as well.
The event will feature a petting zoo, dunk tank, bounce house, and other fun, free activities. Members of several SISD PTAs will also be supporting the event.
Several food trucks will be selling food and drinks, including Nerdy Nation Frozen Creations, Crooked Letter Barbecue, Coffee Obsessed and Blessed, and the Bearcat Grille.
