Jeff Chancellor Named Principal of Piner Middle School

Jeff Chancellor

Sherman ISD is excited to announce Jeff Chancellor, a proven leader, relationship-builder, and innovator at Sherman High School, as the next principal of Piner Middle School.

Chancellor currently serves as CTE, military, and workforce coordinator at SHS, providing instructional leadership to teachers and strengthening community partnerships to increase opportunities for students.

Previously, he was an assistant principal at the high school for two years. Prior to SHS, he was a teacher and coach at the middle and high school levels for nine years.

“Mr. Chancellor is a data-driven, detail-oriented leader with experience in secondary school administration right here in Sherman,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Tyson Bennett. “He excels at making connections and building relationships with people of diverse backgrounds and has the right vision to build upon the great things happening at Piner.”

Chancellor is also a military veteran, having served in the U.S. Army for nine years and led soldiers in combat and training exercises, including two tours to the Middle East. He is focused on collaborating with all stakeholders to enhance the learning and long-term success of Piner students.

"I'm extremely honored and blessed to have the opportunity to carry on a rich tradition of excellence at Piner Middle School,” Chancellor said. “Although I will greatly miss the incredible staff and students at Sherman High School, I look forward to collaborating with the Piner staff and community to create a thriving school culture that develops, produces, and maintains a safe, equitable, and nurturing environment for all students and staff.”

Chancellor earned his master’s degree in education administration from Lamar University and his bachelor’s degree from University of Texas at Dallas. He and his wife Sandy have one daughter, Bailee, who is a fourth grader at Sory Elementary.
