Sherman ISD and Sherman High School were honored to recognize a distinguished group of sophomores on April 13 for outstanding scores on the PSAT.

The annual Superintendent’s Scholars program honors students for their academic achievements and encourages them to continue to work hard to study and prepare for future exams.

Every October, Sherman ISD sophomores take the PSAT or Pre-SAT exam, which helps them prepare for their actual SATs and ACTs taken in the junior and senior year. Scores on the PSAT are used to award very generous national scholarships and identify top-scoring students as National Merit Scholars. 

Sherman ISD is committed to providing preparation opportunities so that students can do their very best on these exams. As part of their recognition in the Superintendent’s Scholars program, honored students agree to take advantage of free KHAN Academy practice exercises over the summer and to attend a Princeton SAT Prep Course led by SHS teachers in fall 2023. 

Superintendent’s Scholars received a pen to honor their achievements and were invited to sign a pledge to continue pushing their learning to even greater heights.
