After a solid first season under Head Boys Soccer Coach Matt Ellis, a combined seventeen members of the Bearcat Soccer team received academic and athletic district honors for their performance.
"I am really proud of the accomplishments and accolades that the players received this year," Ellis said. "We were disappointed not to make our way into a playoff position, but having nine players earn 10-5A All-District recognition for their play and 12 named to the 10-5A Academic All-District team shows their dedication to both aspects of being a student-athlete."
Five members were also named to the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Academic All-State list, and Ellis hopes to see members named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State list, which should be announced soon.
"We truly made great strides this year on the field and in the classroom, both things I am very proud of," Ellis said.
