Two-Hour Delay Planned For Friday, February 25th
Dear Bearcat Families:
We are continuing to work closely with local meteorologists, city and county law enforcement, and neighboring school district leaders to monitor the weather forecast and road conditions to make the best decision for our families and staff.
Our maintenance and operations team has worked diligently over the last few days to make the entrances to our schools safe, but we are continuing to monitor our rural roads and many of our campus drives and parking lots where damp surfaces may refreeze this evening.
Therefore, we are planning on running a 2-hour late start with bus schedules running 2-hours delayed for tomorrow Friday, February 25, 2022. The school start times for tomorrow are as follows:
- 9:40 a.m. - Crutchfield Elementary, Dillingham Elementary, Fairview Elementary, Neblett Elementary, Sory Elementary, Wakefield Elementary, and Washington Elementary
- 10:20 a.m. - Piner Middle School, Sherman Middle School, Sherman High School, Jefferson Learning Center and DAEP.
- 9:30 a.m. - Fred Douglass ECC, Perrin ECC (Pre-K, Head Start, Bilingual)
Just to be extra safe, we will continue to monitor this situation throughout the night and into the morning. To prevent confusion, we will only send additional automated calls or emails if the situation warrants changes in the morning.
Stay warm and we look forward to seeing all of our Bearcats again tomorrow!
Sincerely,
Dr. David Hicks
Superintendent
Sherman ISD
