The University Interscholastic League’s realignment for football in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years, announced this morning, brings Sherman High School football into a new nine-team league.

SHS joins Frisco, Frisco Centennial, Frisco Heritage, Frisco Lebanon Trail, Frisco Liberty, Frisco Lone Star, Frisco Reedy and Frisco Wakeland. 

"We are excited to join the Frisco ISD schools for the 2022 and 2023 football seasons in the new District 6-5A Division 1," said Head Football Coach Cory Cain. "We look forward to forging new friendships with the student athletes, coaches and administrators in Frisco ISD and embrace the competition and challenges that will come."

The basketball and volleyball district for SHS includes Denison, Greenville, Lucas Lovejoy, McKinney North, Melissa and Princeton.
