Ali Holderby Named Principal of Washington Elementary
Sherman ISD is excited to announce Ali Holderby, currently the assistant principal at Fairview Elementary, as the next principal of Washington Elementary.
Holderby is a relationship-oriented and data-driven instructional leader who strives to build a safe, supportive and collaborative campus culture focused on student engagement.
She has served as assistant principal at Fairview for the last three years, where she has helped to drive academic growth, fostered an effective environment for teaching and learning and built meaningful relationships with students, staff, families and the community.
Holderby is committed to continuing to build a strong partnership between the school and Washington community to support ongoing improvement efforts and will leverage historical data to inform professional development and strengthen instructional practices.
She says she is eager to establish relationships and seek feedback about ways to support student achievement.
“I am excited for the opportunity to support and collaborate with the Washington Elementary students, staff and families as we work together to build a positive school community!” Holderby said. “I believe that all students can learn and achieve at high levels, and it is my passion to grow them to their fullest potential. I look forward to strengthening relationships with the community as a Washington Tiger!”
Prior to joining Sherman ISD, Holderby worked as an elementary teacher in Wylie ISD, where she taught second and fourth grades and led professional learning communities and systems to monitor student progress and needed interventions. She began her career in education in 2015 as a Pre-K teacher in Arkansas.
Holderby earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Arkansas and a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from the University of North Texas.
She lives in Sherman with her husband Ben. They are college sweethearts and recently celebrated their four-year wedding anniversary.
