Six Commit to Pursue College Athletics

Soccer, tennis, baseball and softball were represented at Spring Signing Day as six Sherman High School student-athletes signaled their intent to pursue a collegiate athletic career.
Lillian Ballard - Girls Soccer, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma
Ballard was named the Lady Cat Soccer's Midfielder of the Year and was selected for an All-District Honorable Mention last season. She was made the Academic All-District list in 2023, 2024 and 2025, and she's been a member of the Sherman High School cross country team. Ballard has also been involved in the National Honors Society.
Savannah Bond - Girls Soccer, Dallas College - Eastfield
Bond is a three-year starter as goalkeeper for Lady Cat Soccer, and she was named the All-District Goalie of the Year in 2024. Other honors include All-Texomaland First Team in 2024 and 2025 and the All-Texomaland Girls Player of the Year in 2024. Bond was also selected for Academic All-District for 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Michaela Clements - Tennis, East Texas Baptist University
Clements is a four-year varsity letterman for Bearcat Tennis and has been the girls team captain for the past two years. She has been named to the All-District First Team Singles list for three years and All-District First Team Doubles for one year. Clements was also selected for the All-Texomaland First Team list for two years. Academically, Clements has made the Academic All-District list for all four years and was named to an All-State Academic list.
Aubrey Mask - Softball, University of Texas at San Antonio
Mask is a four-year varsity letterman and starter for Lady Cat Softball. She has made the All-District First Team list and was named to the All-Texomaland list for three years. Mask has also made the Academic All-District for two years, and she was an All-State powerlifter for one year.
Elijah Newton - Baseball, Grayson College
Newton is a four-year varsity letterman for Bearcat Baseball. He has made the All-District First Team and All-Texomaland list for three years, and he was also named the All-District Newcomer of the Year. He's also made the Academic All-District list. Other honors include a selection for Team Texas High Plains Shootout, which is an elite baseball tournament featuring top athletes.
Maddy Whitmire - Softball, University of Texas at Tyler (Defending DII National Champions)
Whitmire is a four-year letterman and starter for Lady Cat Softball, and she has made the All-District First Team and All-Texomaland lists for three years. She was also named the 2023 District Catcher of the Year and has been selected for Academic All-District for three years. Other honors include an All-State powerlifting selection.
