SHS One-Act Play Advances to District Competition

Sherman High School’s production of The Balkan Women took third place in the UIL One-Act Play Zone 1 Competition held March 5 at Denison High School - the first time in several years the One-Act Play will advance to the next round of competition.

The Balkan Women is set during the Balkan conflicts of the 1990s, exploring the resilience and strength of women affected by war. Through their struggles for survival and identity in a war-torn landscape, the story highlights themes of hope, dignity and human connection.

Students now move to the UIL District competition, scheduled March 27 at Rock Hill High School in Prosper.
