Student Qualifies for State Academic UIL Contest

Sherman High School is sending a student to the State Academic UIL Meet after a gold medal performance at the Regional Meet on April 26 at Prosper Walnut Grove High School.

Matthew Garner had a gold medal performance in Accounting after he and his team qualified at the District meet earlier this year. Santos Alba finished 11th, Benton Graham placed 17th, and Johanna Tobar Quintanilla finished 24th. The team finished second overall.

In Editorial Writing, Jacey Wiggains placed 6th and will be an alternate to the State Meet. In Literacy Criticism, Hein Htet tied for 24th.

The State Academic UIL Meet will be held May 19-20 at the University of Texas-Austin.
