Middle and High Schools Begin and End Slightly Later This Year
Classes will begin and end a little later in the 2025-26 school year at Sherman High School and Piner and Sherman middle schools. School will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m.
Doors will open at 7:45 a.m. to all SHS students and 7:55 a.m. to middle school students. Sherman ISD encourages families to take advantage of early arrival and drop-off as soon as the doors open on campus each morning. School will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:15 p.m.
School hours will also change slightly at Jefferson Learning Center in the coming school year.
Hours will not change at SISD elementary schools and early childhood centers.
By providing more time between school start times at the elementary and secondary levels, Sherman ISD aims to:
- Provide more time for travel between campuses
- Promote prompt, consistent attendance
- Reduce late arrivals
- Support transportation efficiency and reliability through the continued use of a two-tiered bus routing system

Early Childhood Centers
- Doors Open: 7:20 a.m.
- School Starts: 7:30 a.m.
- Dismissal Begins: 3:05 p.m.
Elementary Schools
- Doors Open: 7:20 a.m.
- School Starts: 7:40 a.m.
- Dismissal Begins: 3:15 p.m.
Middle Schools
- Doors Open: 7:55 a.m.
- Dismissal Begins: 4:15 p.m.
