Cheer Teams Earn Bids to National Competition

All three Sherman ISD cheer teams earned bids to a national cheer competition at Disney World after fantastic performances at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) North Texas Regional event on Nov. 9 at Sherman High School.

The event drew in more than 75 cheer teams and 600 cheerleaders from as far away as Houston and Louisiana.

Below are the results:

• Sherman High School - 2nd in Varsity Non-Tumbling Intermediate
• Sherman Middle School  - 2nd in Small Junior High Game Day
• Piner Middle School - 2nd in Large Junior High Game Day

The DI National School Spirit Championships will be held at Disney World Resort Feb. 6-8.
