SISD Approves Attendance Zones for 2025-26 School Year

SISD Approves Attendance Zones for 2025-26 School Year

School attendance boundaries have been set as Sherman ISD prepares to open three new schools for the 2025-26 school year.

2025-26 Approved Elementary Attendance Zones

2025-26 Approved Middle School Attendance Zones

Replacement campuses for Crutchfield and Fairview elementary schools will both have increased capacity, and the new Parker Elementary in the Heritage Ranch development will open as Wakefield Elementary closes its doors. A new early childhood center will be constructed on the current site of Wakefield Elementary.

Changes were needed to the district’s current attendance zones to accommodate the new schools, help balance enrollment in existing schools and increase operational efficiency. The approved attendance zones will also be less disruptive to students and families when a second new elementary and third middle school open in future years as Sherman continues to grow.

The new attendance zones were approved by the Sherman ISD Board of Trustees during its regular meeting on April 14. Any student who lives more than two miles from their assigned SISD campus qualifies for bus transportation to and from school.

Frequently Asked Questions

Grandfathering Request Form

Families who wish to request that their student(s) remain at their current campus for the 2025-26 school year rather than their newly zoned campus should complete a Grandfathering Request Form and return it to their child’s campus by April 25, 2025. The request form is available to download at the link below or can be picked up in the front office at each SISD elementary and middle school campus.

Priority will be given to incoming 5th and 8th graders and their younger siblings if requested. The next highest grade level will be considered if there is any remaining availability.

Please note that the ability for Sherman ISD to provide this opportunity is dependent on factors such as school capacity, staffing and enrollment and may vary by campus. Transportation will not be provided for grandfathered students, and approval only applies for the 2025-26 school year.

Requests for students to remain at their current campus should be made only through the Grandfathering Request Form and not through the student transfer process, as transfers are considered for reasons of safety, health or to receive special services.
