School Board Approves Staff Raises for 2025-26

The Sherman ISD Board of Trustees approved pay raises for all staff as part of the 2025-26 compensation plan, helping the district to retain and recruit high-quality staff.
The raises fulfill requirements of a new state law, while maintaining a balanced budget and continuing the Board’s longstanding commitment to competitive pay.
The starting teacher salary in Sherman ISD will increase to $60,000 and returning teachers will receive raises based on their years of experience:
- $3,100 for teachers with 0-4 years of experience
- 5,000 for teachers with 5+ years of experience
In addition, the compensation plan includes pay increases for other employees:
- 4% of the midpoint raise for all professional staff in pay grades 1 and 2
- 3% of the midpoint raise for all administrative and professional staff in pay grades 3 or higher
- 6% of the midpoint raise for all clerical, paraprofessional and auxiliary staff
The district’s 2025-26 general budget will be amended to reflect the approved compensation plan. The budget was legally required to be adopted in June, before details were available regarding Texas House Bill 2 (HB2), which passed during the 2025 legislative session.
