Theatre

High school actors dressed as cowboys perform onstage.

Theatre starts in middle school, where students develop basic acting skills and learn about production, technical skills, set design, character development and physical representation. Students may audition for middle school plays and musicals to be performed for live audiences.

In high school theatre, theatre students refine their performances and participate more in designing and building sets and evaluating productions. Theatre students may audition for musicals, plays and UIL One-Act Play.
