Choir
Sherman ISD offers a formal choir program starting in sixth grade. In middle school, students focus on the fundamentals of vocals and music and typically perform in school concerts twice a year. Middle school choirs also compete in All-Region auditions and Solo and Ensemble to further develop their skills.
At the high school level, students are exposed to a broader range of music and literature, and they refine their vocal techniques through a more rigorous curriculum. Participation at the high school levels opens the door to Solo and Ensemble contests, TMEA auditions, and UIL Concert and Sight Reading competitions. High school choir members may also be requested to perform at pep rallies, school events, or community events.
