Fine Arts
Sherman ISD believes knowledge, skills and appreciation of the fine arts are key components of a well-rounded education.
Secondary students have the opportunity to participate in art, band, choir, drill team, orchestra and theatre as part of our robust programming, which includes the only orchestra program in Texoma for middle and high school students. Elementary students receive weekly instruction from full-time art and music teachers at each campus. In addition to developing student talent, creativity and passion for the arts, these programs build leaders by cultivating self-discipline, instilling confidence, teaching perseverance and encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
We encourage the community to join us at student performances and help celebrate student accomplishments. Check out upcoming fine arts events by visiting the calendar linked below!
The UIL Eligibility Calendar shows when grades are checked for academic eligibility in UIL-sanctioned competitions such as marching band, VASE, sports, UIL Academics and more.
