Student Transfer Request
Sherman ISD reviews student transfer requests on a case by case basis. Transfers must be applied for and approved annually, and there is no guarantee that a previously approved transfer will be approved in subsequent years.
Student transfer requests may be accepted for reasons of safety, health (documentation from a medical doctor required), to receive special services, or attend a school with a sibling receiving special services. Transportation is not provided for transfers.
A requested campus may not be available due to staffing, facility considerations, or another reason. Student transfers may be denied or revoked due to poor attendance, excessive coming to school late or leaving early, failure to pick up students at dismissal time, lack of parental cooperation, or behavioral issues.

The 2025-26 student transfer request form can be picked up at the Sherman ISD Service Center, 2701 N Loy Lake Rd., or from any SISD campus, during business hours.
Renewal Transfer Requests for Current SISD Students (Students Who Live Within or Outside of Sherman ISD Boundaries)
Window to submit requests: Feb. 3 - Feb. 28, 2025
Notification of transfer request decision: by April 4, 2025 by email/mail
Initial Transfer Requests for Current Sherman ISD Students (Students Who Live Within Sherman ISD Boundaries)
Window to submit requests: Feb. 3 - Feb. 28, 2025
Notification of transfer request decision: by April 4, 2025 by email/mail
Initial Transfer Requests for Students New to Sherman ISD (Students Who Live Within or Outside of Sherman ISD Boundaries, Including New Employee Hires)
Window to submit requests: May 27 - July 18, 2025
Notification of transfer request decision: Notification via email/mail within two weeks of submitting transfer form. All decisions made by August 4, 2025.
Attendance Zones
In Sherman ISD, students are assigned to schools based on where they live. Families should utilize the transfer request process to seek a transfer from the student's zoned SISD campus to another SISD campus.
