Back to School

Get ready for an amazing year! The first day of the 2026-27 school year is Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Student Registration
Registration is required annually for both students returning to SISD schools as well as those enrolling for the first time. In addition to the online form, families must also provide proof of residency annually and any other required documents, such as updated immunization records. Staff will not assign your child a homeroom teacher or release their schedule until registration is completed.

REGISTRATION ASSISTANCE
Each SISD campus can help with the online registration form or provide access to a computer if needed. Please reach out to your child's school for assistance.
Class Schedules
Remember, student registration must be complete for the 2026-27 school year before the campus will release a student's class schedule. This includes returning proof of residency and any other required documents.
Piner and Sherman Middle Schools
Sherman ISD middle school campuses held schedule pick-up on Wednesday, August 5. If you are still needing to pick up your child's schedule or drop off registration documents, please drop by the school during regular business hours .
Sherman High School
Class schedules are now available online for Sherman High School students. They can be found by logging on to the Student Portal and Parent Portal. To log on, students will first need to reset their passwords at sso.shermanisd.net using a default password shared via email. A printed copy of each student's schedule will also be given to them in their first period class on the first day of school.
Freshman Chromebooks and any required student textbooks will be provided during the first week of school. Student drivers may purchase a parking permit for the 2026-27 school year now.
New for 2026-27!
School Hours
Elementary parents, please note that based on designated breaks in the approved 2026-27 academic calendar, 10 minutes have been added to the beginning of the school day in order to meet state requirements for instructional minutes. School hours will be 7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. at the elementary level. This is consistent with hours for early childhood schools. School hours will remain unchanged at other campuses.
Meal Changes
Senate Bill 314, passed by the Texas Legislature in 2025, will prohibit schools participating in the National School Lunch Program from serving foods that contain artificial dyes and other identified ingredients. As a result, some breakfast and lunch items may look different. While the appearance may change, the foods will continue to meet quality and nutrition standards.

School Supplies
See what early childhood, elementary and middle school students need for the upcoming school year. There is no set list of school supplies at the high school level due to the wide variety of courses that students can take. Please reach out to your campus if you need help with school supplies for the new year.
Get Involved on Campus!
Sherman ISD welcomes parents and community members to volunteer at our schools, and there are numerous ways you can get involved! All volunteers must reapply annually and submit a new background check for the coming school year after July 1.
