• Absences
      • Phone calls will not be accepted to excuse an absence. For an absence to be excused (according to the Texas Education Code), the parent MUST send a note (either a doctor's note, parent's note, court note, etc.) when the student returns to school.  Parents can either send a handwritten note or email Mrs. Johnson, Attendance Clerk @ rojohnson@shermanisd.net, or sign-up for the Attendance Remind App (see right sidebar).  
      • If a student is out 5 OR MORE consecutive days, the student MUST have at least ONE Dr’s note, that covers the days out for the absence to be considered excused.
