We look forward to welcoming and reconnecting with our students for the upcoming school year on August 17, 2020. As we prepare to start, we understand that this school year will be like no other, and thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we partner to provide the best education for our students.
Through Operation Reconnect, we remain committed to providing a learning environment that prioritizes the health and safety of Sherman ISD students, staff and parents, high-quality instruction, and continued support of students, staff, and parents. Thank you in advance for thoroughly reviewing our reopening plan for the start of the 2020-2021 school year.
Sherman ISD is dedicated to providing a high-quality education to all Sherman ISD students, with a choice of in-person or distance learning.
- In-Person Learning: Students will receive regular, full-day, face- to- face instruction for all courses.
- Distance Learning: Online instruction will be offered through Remote Synchronous and/ or Remote Asynchronous format. Certain courses may not be offered through remote instruction.
As we prepare for the unique start of the 2020-2021 school year, we've provided an in-depth district reopening plan so parents can make an informed decision on how their student(s) will commit to starting the school year.
Parents may choose On-Campus Learning or Distance Learning for their student(s) to start the school year. To finalize staffing requirements, Sherman ISD is asking that this commitment be made no later than 6 pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, by completing the SISD Learning Commitment form. We understand that decisions made during this time may change for our families, and commitment changes will be allowed on a case-by-case basis at the end of each grading period.
