Mrs. Hartman

Hello!  My name is Mrs. Hartman and I am the Instructional Technology Specialist at Washington Elementary.  I was born and raised in Central Illinois in the middle of corn fields and soybeans, it is such a beautiful part of the country.  In 2006, I graduated from Millikin University and earned a Bachelor of Music in Music Education.  A month before graduation I met my incredible husband, Anthony Hartman (who is now a teacher at Sherman High School).  In 2006, we moved to Southern Illinois where I began my first Music Education position in Troy CUSD.  I loved teaching elementary music in Troy and did so for three years before we moved to Texas.  During those three years, I also earned my Master of Arts in Education with a focus on School Administration from McKendree University.  In 2009, Anthony and I made the great move to Texas and I accepted the Music Education position at Washington Elementary and Anthony accepted his position at SHS.  Anthony and I also have two beautiful boys, Miles and Owen Hartman.  They are the light of our lives.  When I'm not at work, I am spending time with my family; it's my absolute favorite thing to do!  Some other things I enjoy are: leading worship at Grace UMC, photography, baking and binging Netflix or Hulu.  We both love living here and being a part of this amazing community.  We can't imagine living anywhere else!

This school year, I had the opportunity to step into the Instructional Technology position at Washington and although it has been a huge learning curve, I am absolutely loving it.  I am excited to be able to grow the tech skills of our students and teachers.  Great things are happening at Washington and I am so thankful to be here.
