Mr. Amezcua

My name is Sergio Amezcua.  I studied Computer Science at Universidad De Monterrey, and worked in Software Research and Development in Finance at a corporate office. During this time, I realized I needed to get grow in the finance area so decided to get my Masters in Business Administration in Finance, at Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon. During this time my responsibilities started to steer away from the technical area and started to be more Administrative related. I started to work more serving individuals with their finance-software related problems, and suddenly I noticed that my job required more teaching abilities than before. I started to enjoy explaining other adults and decided that I might need to sharpen my teaching skills, so I started taking some classes to help me become a better educator. After evaluating my options, I saw the opportunity to become a full-time teacher so I decided to take some courses at Texas Woman’s University where I started my Alternative Certification Program.  During that time, I was working as a Kindergarten teacher in the Dallas Independent School District, where I had the opportunity to teach K-4th Grade for 10 years.

About 4 years ago, Sherman ISD gave me the opportunity to work at Washington Elementary, where I continue teaching students.  I am always trying to become a better teacher.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
