Mr. Chris Anderson
Coach Anderson is elated to be returning to Sherman ISD this year having started his career as a 4th grade teacher at Wakefield Elementary and JV Baseball Coach for the Bearcats in 2000/2001. He will be the Head Baseball Coach and also teach the Entrepeneurship Classes at Sherman High School. The past two years, he was the assistant softball & volleyball coach at Denison High School while teaching elementary PE at Mayes Elementary (earning Teacher of the Year for the campus for the 2017/2018 school year).
From 2011-2017, Coach Anderson was the head assistant baseball coach at McKinney North High School. While at McKinney North, he helped grow the PALS mentoring program from only 6 kids to annually maxing out the program at 75 students mentoring both at risk elementary students as well as special needs students in the district. In addition, he was in charge of the Teen Leadership classes. He earned Teacher of the Year honors at McKinney North High School for the 2015/2016 school year.
Coach Anderson also has 7 years of experience teaching both 3rd and 4th grade and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He played baseball while attending SE and was drafted in the 66th round of the 1996 MLB Amateur Player Draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He spent 5 years playing professional baseball in the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox organizations as well as the Amarillo Dillas.
In 2004, Coach Anderson co-founded Frozen Ropes Training Center in McKinney, TX. He owned and operated the facility from 2004-2011.
Coach Anderson and his wife Kimberly have 3 children.
