Pre-K, Early Head Start, and Head Start Important Information

Sherman ISD hosted events on April 3 and 4 to accept required documents for Pre-Kindergarten, Head Start and Early Head Start applications. If you missed either of these events to complete your young child's application for the 2024-25 school year, it's not too late to apply!

For the remainder of the school year, Fred Douglass Early Childhood Center will offer in-person assistance for families who need help applying for any of our SISD early childhood programs. If you do not need assistance with the online registration form, you will still need to bring proof of eligibility to Fred Douglass to complete the application process.

Office staff at Fred Douglass are available to offer assistance and receive proof of eligibility from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on school days.

Sherman ISD offers three options for early childhood education depending on the student’s age and needs. All programs are available for free to those residing in Sherman ISD who meet age and eligibility requirements.

A child must qualify to be in the Pre-Kindergarten, Early Head Start, or Head Start Program. Completion of the application does not qualify a student for the program.

The Pre-Kindergarten, Early Head Start, and Head Start application process is online.
