Welcome! Thank you for visiting this page.

This 2019-2020 school year is my third year teaching a Special Education class at Neblett Elementary School.  I love my job and find great joy in teaching.

In our Structured Learning Class (SLC) we focus on meeting the learning needs of the individual students.  We have strong functional routines and focus on positive reinforcement.

In our class we use a variety of curriculum resources. One of these is the STAR program. STAR stands for Strategies for Teaching based on Autism Research. We use their Discrete Trial (DT) lessons, Functional Routines, and Pivotal Response Training (PRT). The other main resource is Unique Learning Systems (ULS)--we use their monthly lessons, benchmarks and checkpoints, and News-to-You (N2Y) weekly articles and learning activities.

Outside of school, my family and my faith are my favorite things. My husband and I have 6 wonderful children.  All of them have been or are currently going to school in Sherman ISD. The three oldest are off on their own. My oldest daughter is married and has a little boy--I recently became a grandma! My second daughter is attending university.  My third child, a son, is serving as a missionary in Mexico. My youngest three are at home and attend Sherman High School, Piner Middle School, and Dillingham Intermediate School.
