Mrs. Michelle Eackles
Michelle Eackles has proudly served as Fairview Elementary School Principal for the past eight years. She joined Fairview Elementary School as a second grade teacher in 1991, following six years of educational service in Arkansas. Her career in education began in Arkansas as a fourth grade teacher for three years for Blytheville Public Schools, and three years as a first grade teacher for Jonesboro Public Schools.
She served as a teacher for 15 years before being named assistant principal of Fairview. She served in that role for five years before moving over to Fred Douglass Early Childhood Center as Principal for one year. The following year, Michelle Eackles returned back to Fairview Elementary School to serve in her current role as principal.
Mrs. Eackles grew up in West Helena, Arkansas where she attended and graduated from Central High School. She received an undergraduate degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational administration with a specialization in curriculum and instruction from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. This specialty area in curriculum and instruction informs her leadership and teaching approach, as she views early literacy as the foundation of academic progress. During the time Mrs. Eackles was teaching at Fairview, she obtained her Mid-Management Certification from Texas A&M Commerce.
Mrs. Eackles strongly believes in building a school culture and climate that is conducive to every child feeling loved and having a sense of belonging. She believes teamwork and collaboration is the key to meeting the diverse needs of all students served on the campus. She is proud of the strong partnerships with the PTA and community partners which have been invaluable to Fairview’s existence.
During her free time, Mrs. Eackles enjoys shopping or snuggling in a recliner to watch Hallmark movies.
