College, Career, and Military Readiness

Two high school students work on a robot.

It is Sherman ISD's goal to build Bearcats to be ready for success in their career, college or military role. SISD encourages students to actively think about and plan for the future as early as elementary school. Our counseling staff is available to assist students and parents in exploring the world of higher education and career planning.

Being College, Career and Military Ready (CCMR) is an essential part of our district and is supported by state guidelines, partnerships with higher education institutions, and local businesses.

Helping students to discover and plan for their future is part of daily life across the district through:

  • Challenging curriculum
  • Informative resources and tools
  • Supportive staff
  • Events and activities that jumpstart planning such as College Night and career days
