Structured Academic and Instructional Learning (SAIL)

In the SAIL program, students participate in grade-level instruction with supports that help them learn and grow in all areas:

• Academic Skills: Building skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies through grade-level curriculum.
• Communication Skills: Developing effective communication for learning and daily interactions.
• Social Skills: Learning to collaborate, problem-solve. and build positive peer relationships.
• Self-Advocacy: Building confidence and understanding personal strengths and needs.
• Executive Functioning: Strengthening organization, time management, and study strategies.
• Transition Readiness: Preparing for future opportunities in education, work, and community life.

Our classrooms are designed to provide structure, support, and access to general education learning. A typical day may include:

• Grade-Level Instruction: Participating in core and elective classes with appropriate supports.
• Small-Group Support: Targeted instruction to reinforce skills and address individual needs.
• Co-Teaching & Collaboration: General and special education teachers working together to support learning.
• Strategic Supports: Use of accommodations, assistive technology, and visual supports.
