Standard Response Protocol
All Sherman ISD schools utilize what is known as the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) to provide common terminology and a uniform response to a wide variety of school-based emergencies. The SRP, developed by the I Love U Guys Foundation, is a nationally recognized program that provides clear, consistent, and effective protocols for schools to follow in emergency situations.
Staff and students are trained each school year on SRP and conduct SRP-based drills to reinforce emergency preparedness. This knowledge can help reduce anxiety and confusion should a real situation arise, ensuring that everyone can respond quickly and appropriately.
By sharing this information with our school community, we aim to ensure that everyone—students, parents, teachers, and staff—understands their roles and responsibilities during a crisis.
