Student Technology

The Sherman ISD Instructional Technology Team is committed to preparing all learners for success in a digital world by creating and maintaining a culture of innovation through the use of digital resources; to strengthen learning, foster creativity, collaboration, and communication both in and beyond the classroom.

Students across the district have the opportunity to engage in hands-on, active learning opportunities. Design labs and libraries have 3D printers, robotics sets and other resources to encourage creativity, collaboration and problem solving. 

Student Devices

Devices give students access to online educational resources and tools and provide opportunities for collaboration with their peers and teachers. In addition, many apps and programs provide personalized learning by allowing students to learn at their own pace and adapting based on the students’ responses and learning needs. 

In Sherman ISD, early childhood through Kindergarten students use in-class iPads for activities that reinforce a teacher's lessons, and students in grades 1-6 use Chromebooks while in the classroom. Starting in the seventh grade, students can check out Chromebooks for take-home use and must sign a technology equipment lending agreement to do so.
