Student Technology
Sherman ISD maintains a 1:1 ratio of students to technology devices, as well as an interactive computer panel in every classroom, to enrich the educational experience of students and ensure equitable access.
Devices give students access to online educational resources and tools and provide opportunities for collaboration with their peers and teachers. In addition, many apps and programs provide personalized learning by allowing students to learn at their own pace and adapting based on the students’ responses and learning needs.
Students across the district also access design labs to engage in hands-on, active learning opportunities. These have 3D printers, robotics sets and other resources to encourage creativity, collaboration and problem solving.
Student Devices
In Sherman ISD, early childhood through first grade students use in-class iPads for activities that reinforce a teacher's lessons, and students in grades 2-6 use Chromebooks while in the classroom. Starting in the seventh grade, students can check out Chromebooks for take-home use and must sign a technology equipment lending agreement to do so.
Learning Management Systems
Learning management systems (LMS) are utilized by teachers to help manage online educational materials and courses:
- Early Childhood: Seesaw
- Grades K-5: Google Classroom
- Grade 6-12: Canvas
