Health Services
Each Sherman ISD campus has a school nurse who serves an important role in your child’s educational experience. Athletic trainers and other health professionals also provide care and support to student athletes. Examples of physical health-related services provided in SISD include:
- First aid and injury evaluation
- Monitoring of chronic health conditions (asthma, diabetes)
- Vision, hearing, acanthosis nigricans, and scoliosis screenings
- Support during illness or physical symptoms at school
- Heat illness prevention and injury support for student athletes

Notice and Consent for Health-Related Services
Under Senate Bill 12, passed by the 89th Legislature in 2025, parents may opt their child out of any health-related service offered in Sherman ISD. Consent is assumed if you do not opt out. If you would like to decline health-related services for your child, log on to the district's online registration form and update your child's information under the Restrictions section at any time during the school year.
