Student Accident Insurance
Under state law, school districts are not liable for accidents that occur at school. This means that Sherman ISD is not responsible for medical payments or bills for your child if your child is injured at school or during any school-sponsored activity. All medical charges are the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
Sherman ISD parents/guardians have the option to purchase voluntary insurance for their child. The following are available to all SISD students:
- School-time coverage for accidents during the regular school day or school-sponsored activities
- 24-hour which covers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, any place and any time
- Dental coverage
- Varsity football coverage
Parents can enroll students at any time during the year. Please note this is a limited benefit policy and any charges above the policy limits are the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
