Support for Families

Sherman ISD partners with Communities in Schools (CIS) to deliver customized support to at-risk students and families across the district. CIS works to identify and address barriers that may impact school attendance and success.
Anyone can make a referral regarding a student in need of support. Students and families may also reach out directly to CIS coordinators at SISD campuses, and coordinators help families connect with local organizations and resources depending on the family's needs. This may include school supplies, clothing, food, hygiene products and more. Services are monitored and adjusted every year.
Families can find their campus CIS coordinator by visiting their campus counseling website.
