Community
When an investment is made in our local public schools, everyone wins.
Volunteer
Sherman ISD invites parents and community members to become a volunteer at one of our campuses! Volunteers make a difference by supporting our students and teachers, and there are numerous ways to get involved. Volunteers must submit an annual background check to Sherman ISD.
Give Back
Sherman ISD welcomes donations and partnerships that meet district needs and provide new opportunities for students and staff. Use the links below to explore ways to support our schools!
Sherman Education Foundation
The Sherman Education Foundation provides funds for creative educational programs, staff development opportunities and other solutions to meet the needs of Sherman students and staff. SEF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. Donations can be made directly to SEF, or you can participate in their fundraisers throughout the year including the annual 5K & Bubble-K Fun Run.
Partners in Education
Partners in Education is a network connecting SISD to local businesses, community groups, faith groups and other organizations. Partnerships can take many forms, from giving in-kind donations such as school supplies to hosting a field trip or helping to recognize outstanding staff and students. These partnerships are highly responsive to the needs of the district and the partner.
Connect with Alumni
The Sherman Ex-Students Association is a network of SISD alumni who are passionate about our rich history and legacy of excellence in Sherman ISD. The association supports current Sherman students through involvement and scholarships, recognizes distinguished former Sherman ISD students and teachers and maintains a museum dedicated to preserving the cultural and literary histories of Sherman and Fred Douglass high schools.
Connect with SISD
Stay up to date on all things SISD! Community members are invited to subscribe to our weekly newsletter, Bearcat Connect, and follow us on social media to learn about what's happening in our school district!
Request for Student Involvement
Bearcats love being involved in the community! We ask that you please complete our request form if you are interested in having student groups participate in your next community event or activity.
Non-School Materials
Sherman ISD utilizes an electronic flyer communication tool called Peachjar to share information about non-district activities, events and other opportunities in the community. Businesses and organizations looking to promote their products and services can submit their flyer to have it emailed to SISD parents and staff.
